As part of the Reedy River restoration project, this section of sewer pipe will be buried, also conveniently serving as a place to dump soil freed up in the project. A section of the Swamp Rabbit trail near McDaniel Avenue is being torn up to begin work in that area.

As a follow-on to Susan’s post yesterday, large areas of Cleveland Park had flooded. City crews worked very hard to restore the popular park as quickly as possible. Here a worker cleans a picnic table.
This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis – a time when the world was close to a massive global nuclear war. Â A local, Major Rudolf Anderson was shot down on October 27, 1962. Â He and his fellow pilots played a Â key role in defusing the situation. Â The memorial was reworked to commemorate their service and explain the story of the Cuban missile crisis in a series of storyboards surrounding the display. Â A dedication ceremony was held on Saturday October 27.
