I took this photo a while back and choose to share it today. I like the photo because what could have been purely functional was turned into a decorative accent in the flower bed. The water in the photo is the Reedy River. The grass, plants, and drainage are next to River Walk in downtown Greenville.

I took this photo at a recent event and held off on posting it until today. Originally I felt the photo was too busy. However it grew on me and I have now chosen to share it … Do you also take photos which it takes looking at several times before you decide you like them?

We ate at The Lazy Goat restaurant recently and were very pleased with the experience. I say experience because that is as important as the food … The food is great. In addition to pizza as shown in this photo they server many Mediterranean dishes … The experience is that of a causal upscale restaurant which encourages conversation, fun, and even song. For local readers (each table has one blue chair) be sure and ask what your obligations are if you sit in the blue chair.

Today I continue yesterday’s theme of showing others as they take photos. Also, once again one of Greenville’s fountains is highlighted. Given July and August are our hot months cooling off in the fountains will be greatly enjoyed … Today we also share a few extra photos of the fountain on River Walk in downtown Greenville. Click on the thumbnails for a larger image.

PS: I’m taking a break (see note in side bar) for detail. I hope you enjoy the repost of photos from the past.

This is a follow-up to yesterday’s photo which showed the small feet of a child playing in a fountain. Today’s photo shows a wider view of the fountain. The theme of the fountain is a railroad train. The reason is that the Swamp Rabbit Railroad crossed the Reedy River at this point many years ago. You can see the track in the fountain. When children play they can hear the sounds of the train and as it approaches the water jets are choreographed to the sounds of the train.

I took this photo yesterday shortly after lunch … the flowers on River Walk were especially appealing … the blue cover is for sidewalk art created during Artisphere … the cover will be removed soon and the sidewalk art will last for a year … the flowers will not last that long … so locals my want to drop by and enjoy them soon.
