Easter Sunrise Service at the Wyche Pavilion

Easter Sunrise Service at the Wyche Pavilion in downtown Greenville. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman.

This morning many enjoyed a Community Easter Sunrise Service at the Wyche Pavilion in downtown Greenville. This was jointly hosted by the Mountain View Baptist Church and the Second Presbyterian Church. Reverend Richard Phillips welcomed the congregations and lead the singing. Reverend Stacey Mills delivered a powerful and stiring sermon. Music was provided by the Thornwell Brass and the Covenant Choir.

Following are links to a few extra photos. I especially enjoyed the early morning walk, the childrens Covenant Choir, music by the Thornwell Brass, the delivery of the sermon by Reverend Stacey Mills, and the ladies Easter hats.

We had a wonderful extended weekend which we greatly enjoyed … however, when it came time to post a photo I realized I had none I was ready to share … so last night, a walk around the block presented several photo opportunities … the photo I’m sharing shows the low water dam, Swamp Rabbit crossing, Reedy River, River Walk, and Wyche Pavilion … there was even a band playing beach music at the pavilion … this short walk reminded me how much I love living in downtown Greenville.

Our neighbors playing in the snow with their dog

Our neighbors playing in the snow with their dog. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 3/4/2009.
On Sunday evening, while taking photos in the snow, I met the couple featured in today’s photo. It turns out they are our neighbors and were playing with their dog … I especially like the snow in the background. The photo was taken in the Wyche Pavilion with the amphitheater lights on background.

PS: I am trying a new theme. You should notice several changes over the next few days. I like the user interface. I hope you do as well. Please let me know if you run into problems.
