The rising sun shines through turning leaves and a fog bank at one of the entrances to Lake Conestee Nature Park, resulting in a very mysterious display.

I was walking along a path around the newly constructed Greenville Little League baseball complex at Municipal Stadium – the former home of the Greenville Braves off Mauldin Road, when this beam of light came through the trees. This is the first week of serious frost in southern Greenville County as shown by the frosty grass. The site is next to the relatively warm Reedy River, which generated a cloud bank. The trees divided the cloud bank from the clear air, and there was a gap in the trees where this light appeared through the fog. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go to the other end of the light beam to see if there was a pot of gold or a sword in the stone!

This photo shows the morning sun rising on Washington Street as I walked to work earlier this week.

Yesterday was a very busy work day for me. It started early and went late. However, I did pause to enjoy the colors of the sunrise during my walk to work. Now I get to enjoy them a second time as I share this photo.

Today’s photo shows the Liberty building with morning blue sky behind and reflected in the widows .. since my last two post have shown morning photos with dramatically different colors, in the sky. I thought I should mention that these photos were taken on different days, at slightly different times, and the previous two photos had the sun rising through a light cloud cover while in today’s photo there were no clouds .. just beautiful morning blue.

Today’s photo shows the SunTrust building at sunrise .. you may remember this previous photo showing the SunTrust building at sunset.

On my walk to work yesterday, the morning sky was especially vivid .. since I have started sharing photos I find it interesting how the lighting varies with the season .. for example, with the shorter days of Winter I get to enjoy the sunrise without having to get up at an unreasonable hour (smile).
