Our contribution, to the monthly City Daily Photo theme day, is this photo of a millstone in a rock garden near the Reedy River Falls in downtown Greenville .. I chose this photo because it fits the theme, BIG .. and because it ties to the origins of Greenville .. near this rock garden there is a sign which reads “About 1765 — Near Reedy Falls, stood the home, trading station, and grist mill of Col. Richard Pearis, first white settler of this section. He was a noted indian trader and prominent Tory of the revolution. — This marker placed by camps of Greenville County, Woodmen of the World, 1948″.
