This is a photo of the end of one of the lighted concrete couches, facing Main Street.
This is a view at dusk facing towards Main Street / Anthropologie from the middle of the concrete ‘couches’. They contain lighting at the base of each step, which creates a different look at night.
This is a daylight view of the benches located at the back of the Piazza. The stone paver walking surface gives the feel of a courtyard.
This is the first of a short series with different views of the Piazza Bergamo plaza as it is being finished. This is a view towards the Bank of America building. The poles will support an additional canopy when complete.
Another section of the Piazza Bergamo has opened up to pedestrian traffic. This section near the back of the Piazza contains 2 moon shaped wooden benches, seen here at night with the built-in lighting.
As the fences come down in the Piazza Bergamo plaza, the space has opened up for people to enjoy. There is still some finishing work remaining on the inner part of the plaza.
Today is theme day, in the City Daily Photo community, and the theme is contrast .. our contribution is this photo showing Greenville’s Piazza Bergamo. The contrasting lighting conditions presented a challenge and an interesting opportunity. In addition the bicycle, in the foreground, adds a focus to the shadows .. while the bright sunshine, in plaza, along with the architecture, and the people add focus to the background. Overall, I enjoyed preparation for this theme day and look forward to touring the world to see interpretations of the theme, contrast.
