The morning sun reflecting on staircase railings in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 4/30/2008.
Yesterday, while walking to work, I captured this photo of morning light reflecting on a staircase railing. It was one of those moments when the ordinary is especially appealing.

Looking directly opposite from yesterday’s photo I was treated to a similar brick facade and a stain glass window lit by the morning sun passing through a church in downtown Greenville. It is interesting to reflect on the difference looking one way then the opposite. Many contrast can be considered. A business then a church, private then open to the public, broken window then stain glass window, dark then light, the list goes on. And all of it made special by the morning light.

Morning light on Court Street

Morning light on Court Street in Greenville, SC On Sunday morning we were up early so I took this photo of the morning light. The reason we were up early is that a film crew moved into the parking lot and streets around our condo complex. All night long we heard beep, beep, beep. You know the sound from trucks backing up. As a result we lost sleep. Then just like kids who are afraid they will miss something we got up early to see what was happening. Here is the view from our condo when we woke up.

A colorful building on Main Street in Greenville, SC For all my local readers you know this photo was not taken in the last two days because we have had rainy cold weather. So I went into my archives and found this photo taken two weeks ago. I especially like the colors, the shadows, and the morning light.

Ice in the fountain in front of the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville, SC Cold weather has arrived in Greenville. This photo was taken yesterday morning showing ice in the fountain in front of the Westin Poinsett Hotel. The winters are normally mild in Greenville but the last two days it has been cold! I was pleased with the lighting in the photo and that the fountain was flowing.
