Today, I’m sharing another photo highlighting the shade and the shadows which the trees on Main Street provide … I suspect the reason for several of these photos is that I’m spending more time in the shade in an effort to avoid the heat (smile) … July and August are Greenville’s hot months. Ten perfect months followed by two very hot months … here is a link to a previously posted photo showing this colorful condo on Main Street.

Today’s photo was taken in the morning light and shadows as I walked to work recently. It shows the Drake, a downtown tradition since 1932, and the Town House Galleries. Another view of this scene can be seen in this previous post showing The intersection of Main Street and West North Street
.

I took this photo during my morning walk to work yesterday. Because cold weather has arrived my motivation was warmth, as a result I was walking in the sun as much as I could. I liked the shadows and the light so I stopped for a photo … The cold weather makes me appreciate photo bloggers from colder climates. I really wanted to keep my hands in my pockets.

The Orient on Main is one door down from the Sushi Murasaki restaurant shown yesterday. Today’s photo takes advantage of the soft morning light while yesterday’s photo played with the evening sun.
PS: Today my sister and brother in law celebrate 40 years of marriage. Even if they were not relatives I would still say they are an enjoyable and loving couple who set an example for the rest of us.
Best wishes Leonda and Claude on your 40th anniversary.

On my walk to work recently I captured this photo of shadows cast by the morning sunlight. The photo was taken at the intersection of Court Street and Main Street (map location) … Some readers may remember this previously posted photo showing Morning sun reflecting on staircase railings … Both photos play with shadow using the technique of shooting toward the morning sun.
