A black Mercedes hood on a cloudy day in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 3/28/2008.
Recently I shared several photos based on the theme of white. Yesterday I started a new color theme of black. I quickly realized that I needed to get past this idea. So today I am sharing the remainder of my black series and promise to move on to a brighter subject tomorrow … Although not the best idea I have had for a photo series I personally enjoyed the challenge of hunting for black photos … Today’s featured photo is of the hood of a black Mercedes on a cloudy day. You can also see petals from Bradford Pear trees on the hood as well. Click on the thumbnails below for the full black effect:

March 27, 2008 - The Fear Project

A poster for The Fear Project presented in Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 3/27/2008.
I found this poster interesting and as a result I chose to share a darker (blank, red, and white) image today. A little Google research shows that Centre Stage presented Wait Until Dark as part of The Fear Project. The write up mentions late night presentations. There are other theaters mentioned in the Google search as well … Greenville’s art scene is varied and accomplished.

As a follow-up to Saturday’s post showing a rainbow peace flag waving in downtown Greenville, I have shared some of the colors of the rainbow over the last few days. Today I end this mini-series by share a photo of a white window on a black wall in downtown Greenville.

January 5, 2008 - A private parking sign on a black wall

A private parking sign on a black wall made bright by the morning sun in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 1/5/2008.
I found the morning sun on this black wall appealing so I paused to take a photo and reflect. It is interesting to reflect on what prompts one to think a scene is appealing. Personally I find light has a lot to do with my choice. However, on reflection I remember my post early in January of 2007 were also on dark subjects … Have a good weekend and do your best of convey bright cheerful energy in these cold short days of January.
