Vino and Van Gogh lead by artist Marquin Campbell. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking photos at an event call Vino and Van Gogh which is an art class lead by local artist Marquin Campbell. You can find out more information about Marquin’s art and her classes at www.MarquinDesigns.com. I recommend the events for our local readers and those within driving distance from Greenville.
During the Vino an Van Gogh event I enjoyed catching photos showing the brush stocks on blank canvas, followed by outlines and focus mixed with wine and laughter, and then pride as a piece of art takes form, followed by adding texture and color then reflection on the results, the adding of details and moments of artistry with continual encouragement, then after a few finishing touches you have a work of art you can be pleased with and looks very good

This sculpture depicts a very tall lady playing a flute .. actually the plaque indicates the name is “Meditation”. The plaque goes on to share the following words from the artist.
“With each breath and every note
The sweetness of the flute Mesmerizes my very soul
And as it does I find myself deep in meditation
And at peach with all Humanity”
Tuan, Master Sculptor.
The plaque also indicates this is temporary public installation made possible by Midtown Artery.

In addition to Art in the Park, the Peace Center (our performing arts center) was all lit up with activity this weekend … In addition to the performances, I like the lights and the architecture of the building.

These young artist participating in the creation of a Jackson Pollock style painting. The crowd enjoyed their efforts and the kids had a great time. The end result was pretty good.

Art in the Park is underway this weekend in downtown Greenville. In addition to enjoyiung the art and you get to visit with the artist … Today’s photo is of Ken Ries standing next to one of his glass works. Others can be seen at his Wedgewood Glass Works website … I have included extra thumbnail photos showing other scenes from the festival. Specifically; children painting, kids spinning tops, and the Woodworks who created the tops.
