Volunteers clear a new trail

After a cold start to the new year, last Saturday felt more like spring.   It was perfect for a trail work day at Paris Mountain.  The goal of the trail work was to construct a new trail up the steepest part of the mountain which could be ridden on a bicycle – thus giving an alternative to riding bicycles up on the roadway, while providing a hiking trail that is not so steep.   More than 73 volunteers turned out to work on the trail, so great progress was made.    Several local companies and organizations provided support:

  • REI Greenville
  • GE Energy
  • Upstate SORBA (Mountain Biking Group)
  • Friends of Paris Mountain
  • Paris Mountain Staff
