This photo shows one version of a perfect Sunday morning activity. My idea of a perfect Sunday morning includes taking a photo … This photo was taken last week in front of Port City Java in on Main Street in downtown Greenville.

I love the whiteness and blackness of this photo. The webbed chair is an interesting geometric pattern and the hat and lightly striped shirt add to the overall effect. A very fine photo! I eally prefer human interest photographs like this one, Denton.
I really like this photo and especially in black and white. Makes it more interesting, I think. It would have been a good one for the theme of someone reading.
If he has a coffee cup behind that paper, I am there!
My idea of a perfect Sunday too. Love the photo. I so agree with Kate about preferring human interest photographs but find it difficult to not invade people’s privacy. You’ve achieved it perfectly here, Denton with absolutely no invasion of privacy.
Wow. I remember days exactly like this day you photographed. Reading the paper. Drinking coffee and smoking either a pipe or a cigarette. I did that from the days I was in the Army beginning in 1953 up until I had an aortic aneurysm in 1996 and quit smoking forever. I really relate to this kind of day especially the mornings.

Oh, that’s very close to my idea of perfect sunday, too! Great photo, with a story behind it.
I am not sure how else to explain this, but this photo is very “sharp”. I like it a lot!
I like to do the same thing as this man – and as you – before and after I look at the daily photo blog sites. Greetings to you on this fine Sunday morning. Annie
Lovely shot – I agree with everyone re the colours. The gentleman is really dapper in that fabulous hat.
We have a public holiday here today and I think I need to follow his lead and get the paper and relax!!
My first comment seems to have disappeared. So hope you don’t end up with two of them.
What a dapper gentleman – and what a great photo. Love the composition and the colours.
Love a morning like this … sidewalk cafe with a coffee, a good book or pad/pen to make notes, watch people going by and someone stopping by for a bit of a chat :-)
I love the hat! Do you have one?
there was a blue heron in the river that i watched for an hour and a half. an anole aka newt climbed over my legs. great day.
This photo’s a keeper. Love the relaxed feeling of it — and the perspective.
I’m pleased you all like this photo. I was pleased with it as well.
Kate, I agree human that interest photos are a great addition to a photo blog … Thank you for your complement.
Barb, the photo is actually in color … You are right. I should have saved the photo for our theme day showing someone reading. However, I tend to post photos relatively quickly after they are taken.
Neva, yes a cup of coffee was present. In fact the photo was taken outside of Port City Java in downtown Greenville.
Jilly, respecting privacy is important. I go back and forth and when possible I try to ask permission. Tomorrow’s photos of the “touch a truck” event presented me some tough decisions on what to post.
Abraham, I make a special effort to not post photos of those who smoke.
Irina, thank you.
Bill, thank you. I appreciate your complement.
Annie, yes I’m addicted. I have to include visiting the daily photo blog sites in every day.
Jules, yes the hat was sharp … I’m pleased when I can show a sharply dressed person from Greenville. I am as guilty as the next person in wearing my shorts and T-shirt.
Jules, both comments appeared and I am pleased to see them both.
Ann, like you I would enjoy the newspaper and something to take notes with. Maybe a computer.
Lavender Lady (Norma), no hats are not one of my fashion statements. However, my doctor has suggested I start to protect from sun exposure. So maybe I will go looking for one.
Andrew, check out my past post about wildlife on the Reedy.
Lessie, thanks.
Neat photo, Denton.
