As part of Greenville’s bid to participate in the Google Fiber for Communities experiment, two thousand people formed Google in large letters using glow sticks. The hour long event was designed to catch Google’s attention .. To document the event there were at least another two thousand people watching .. each with a camera .. myself included .. also local and national media were there … and rumor has it a photographer, from Time magazine, was in the helicopter which circled the event. Bravo to the group called Google on Main for organizing the event .. The event hash tag is #GoogleOnMain

That’s fantastic! In the portal, I thought it was a flower garden lit up with funky colors. The truth is even funkier. I hope they caught Google’s attention!
Hi Hilda, thanks for stopping by. Greenville is felling lucky so maybe we will soon have 1GB internet access (smile).
That’s one of the best photos I’ve seen yet. Still waiting on some aerial shots. I was in the “e’.
Way to go Galley .. e is a crucial part of Google (smile). Google on Main was lots of fun … I also look forward to the aerial photos. As many camera where at the event the Internet should be flooded.
I’m very pleased that Greenville Daily Photo is number one in the search results when goggling the words; Google Fiber for Communities, photos
Just like Google. We are creating Income streams in the Upstate as we teach and educate people how to Earn Green going GREEN. This turnout was pretty awesome!!!
What an awesome event. Wish I could have been there. I did comment in more detail on my facebook page. For some reason my comments are not showing up on my home page even though I can still see them on my profile page.
I eagerly wait for more aerial photos of this event.
Yes, the event was lots of fun. Hopefully it will catch Google’s attention.
Denton, glad to see you made it out as always. Caught a link to your gallery on Amy Wood’s blog. Keep up the good work!
I was in the yellow “O” – thanks for the cool pic, Denton! :)
