This classic Coca-Cola advertisement appears on the Old Cigar Warehouse in the History West End of Greenville. Actually this is a recreation which has been recently painted. They did a great job of making it look authentic .. Wikipedia says this Coca-Cola slogan was used in 1891.

I do some auditing work for a company the has CoCa-Cola as a client. Usually this involves a monthly trip to make sure new billboard campaigns are put up correctly, well lit, etc. However about a year ago they sent me on a mission to look for “signs” like this painted on old buildings. This was one of the locations I shot. I wonder if they were using my findings to go out and repaint or restore these old signs. When I took the photo the sign was still there but a lot more faded. I think one thing they were doing was making a book or advertisements like this across the country. Looks like they didn’t go for a full repainting but enough to show better in a photo yet still show it was old.
i need some brain tonic!
