I have been looking for this photo opportunity for a while and was fortunate to catch it last night. What I wanted to catch was the bicycle rack in use on the front of a Greenlink bus. I think Greenville deserve praise for incorporating bicycles and mass transit … After taking a photo the driver honked, rolled down his window, waved, and asked that I take a second photo … smart and friendly.

Fine photo of a great idea, Denton. We have those sorts of racks on the front of the bus here; two bikes fit on each one. The MAX, light rail train, has space set aside for folks to hang their bikes upright inside the train car, just like they have space set aside for seniors and disabled riders. All it takes is planning.
I have thoroughly enjoyed browsing your recent posts. Grand photos of interesting subjects.
Beautiful color ,Nice photo!!
Our council has just spent a lot of money on widing main roads to the city to incorporate a cycle lane….and senior citizens have free bus travel. Sometimes when there are big events on the council will put on a free bus from designated points to help reduce the amount of cars and parking problems. I’ve never seen a bus with a bike rack though and I think that it’s a brilliant idea! It would certainly help people like me who live further from town than we’d like to cycle but would have no where to leave a bike in town if we were to cycle to the nearest bus stop…such a simple but brilliant idea!
