On my walk home, from work, yesterday the door to Addy’s was open so I snapped a quick photo … As a result I’m ending the year with bright lights and a place to enjoy a drink with friends.

Yesterday, the streets were crowded as were the outdoor tables at restaurants. As shown in this photos of the dinners at Overlook Grill the weather was warm enough to wear short sleeve shirts … On a side note; the day light hours are still very short. This photo was taken at 12:30pm. Note how long the shadows are.

Remember to bring your bags

Sunday evening, after returing from our holiday travels, my first errand was to pick up milk from our local grocery store. One of the nice things about living downtown is that there is a Publix grocery store only a few blocks from away. In fact yesterday I walked to the store and back … The green signs, at street level, say “remember to bring you bags”. You can see my shopping bags in the foreground. I wonder if this a common practice around the world … For our international visitors do you bring your groceries home in paper, plastic, or cloth? And how common is it to walk to the grocery store?

I am out of town this weekend so I’m sharing an archive photo from a week ago. The photo shows a common scene shared in several post previously. This particular view of the Reedy River Falls is most likely the most commonly photographed scene in Greenville.

Today’s photo is one I took by accident. The Christmas toy in question would be my replacement lense for my Sony A100 camera. Maybe a Sony A700 or even a Canon next year … I hope you and your loved ones all enjoy playing with your Christmas toys as well.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s photo I’m sharing a flower of a different kind today. This photo was taken yesterday showing a gate which recently was installed on an alley in downtown Greenville.
