Today is blog action day 2008 and the subject is poverty. My contribution is a tribute to Greenville Technical College … Earlier this week I highlighted Greenville Tech’s efforts to encourage awareness of the homeless. Specifically I posted about a photography exhibit called “Who Among Us”. Because of the exhibit I reflected on what solutions exist … Although I know that poverty has to be addressed at many different levels I personally believe that education is the most powerful long term tool to fight poverty.
Other City Daily Photo bloggers participating in Blog Action Day include

- Jakarta (Indonesia) by Ollie and Santy
- London (UK) by Ham
- Tacloban City (Philippines) by agnesdv

Hi
Thanks for the post. Thought you might be interested in the free courses on poverty available by universities involved in Open Educational Resources. I wrote a post here:

At The Open University we feel we’ve made some contribution to improving access to education but of course we recognise there are still huge barriers and “hard-to-reach” groups.
