Who Among Us? A photography exhibit by visual and performing arts students, of Greenville Tech, is on display at their Riverworks Gallery in downtown Greenville, Sc. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 10/13/2008.
On Sunday I stopped by the Riverworks Gallery (map location) on Riverwalk in downtown Greenville. Their current photography exhibit is very powerful … An explanation shares that photography students, under the instruction of Blake Praytor at Greenville Tech, are presenting an “exhibit that explores whether or not homeless people are really any different from ourselves, our family, and or friends” … The portraits are a mix of those who are homeless and those who are not … I agree with the explanation provided that “the portraits capture the subjects’ essential common humanity”.

For local readers the sign indicates the gallery is open on Wednesday’s from 1pm until 6pm. Also, there is a reception on November 16th from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. I have put the date on my calender and I hope you will as well … I understand donations are accepted for “Our Eyes Were Opened”, an outreach of United Ministries.

Congratulations to the very talents photographers contributing to this exhibit … The photographers were listed as: Russ Smith, Tracy Belue, Amanda Shirley, Tennile Trammell, Mandy Johnson, Tammy Miller, Emmi Mathis, Kim Walker, Bates Aiken, Kylie Crumpton, and Blake Praytor.
