The Fall for Greenville website states that they have been named “Most Family Friendly Event” by Update Parent Magazine. I think today’s photo shows they are living up their reputation … Friday evening had large crowds, wonderful weather, and great food. We started the weekend with one of favorites, Two Chefs to Go. We can highly recommend their pork sandwich with jalapeno coleslaw. And as in past years their pumpkin cheese cake may be the best treat at the festival.

Cool photo, Denton. The software tweak really enhanced it nicely.
Last night was my first experience at Fall For Greenville, but I experienced it as a volunteer rather than a customer free to roam. It was a wonderful evening to be sure, and I had great fun selling wristbands and checking IDs in the ticket booth outside of Sticky Fingers. Kind of a bummer when I got back to my car and found a $35 parking ticket, though. I was in such a hurry to park and get to volunteer check-in that I failed to see the “permit only” line under City of Greenville Lot. Oops!

Marsha, sorry to hear about your parking ticket. I think the city should have some parking enforcement leniency for volunteers … Thanks for volunteering.

I fell in love with Two Chef’s BBQ sammich last year and even went back the next day to get another. My plan was to do the same this year, but they were sold out by the time we got there Saturday night. Fortunately, I was able to get two this afternoon for “breakfast”.. mmmmmmmmmmm..
I really don’t understand why they won’t make it part of their regular menu offering…

Alex Dresko, I agree. It is good advice to eat at Two Chef’s first. Personally they were my pick for best of the festival.

Ann & Denton, thanks for voicing your appreciation! I’m a Submarine Qualified Torpedoman and have been in the ‘ol Canoe Club for nearly sixteen years now. I am currently based at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait where I work with a Navy Customs Battalion. Though I’ve served my part of my time on active duty, I’m now in the Navy Reserves and am attached to the Naval Reserve Center in Greenville, SC. This is an eight month deployment and I only have seven weeks to go! If you’d like to drop me a line sometime, my email address is subsailor712@hotmail.com. I’d love to hear from you sometime!
