October 10, 2008 - Annual statue blind-folding ceremony

CBM’s annual statue blind-folding ceremony in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 10/10/2008.
Yesterday, was World Sight Day and the annual statue blind-folding ceremony was held in downtown Greenville. CBM-US (Christian Blind Mission) holds this ceremony to raise awareness of a global public health crisis, preventable blindness … Those who participated in the ceremony included students from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind along with CBM-US CEO Ron Nabors and Greenville Mayor Knox White.

PS: Note that GreenvilleDailyPhoto was included in the media alert for this event. It was exciting to join the local newspaper, local TV stations, and other media in covering such a worthwhile cause … As it turns out Amanda Brasier, from CBM-US, is a GreenvilleDailyPhoto reader and she went out of her way to invite me … thank you Amanda.

Amanda, thanks for inviting me.

Ann, interestingly I received a second media alert today. I wonder when this will begin to feel like work (smile)?
