This is a wonderful scene resulting from the rain we have received recently. Moss covered trees on Coffee Street (map location). News stories indicated the lake levels rose by one foot due to the rain. We still have a long ways to go before the lake levels are back to normal however it is encouraging.

Today, I continue bright colors on a sunny day. The photo is of Linky Stone Park which is a children’s park located under an overpass in downtown Greenville. Many of the columns, supporting the overpass, are painted primary colors while several have murals painted by Rick Forest. Last week I shared photos of Rick with lots of helpers adding a witch on the ginger bread house shown in today’s photo. Click here for a close up of the witch.

The last two day’s I have shared nighttime photos so today I choose to share a brightly colored photo taken during the day. The photo shows rainbow colored bricks at Linky Stone Park (map location) in downtown Greenville.

Yesterday it rained in Greenville and I went for a walk to take a few photos. As you can see there were others enjoying a walk in the rain as well. The photo shows a man crossing the Swamp Rabbit bridge (map location) with the River Place Hampton Inn as the backdrop … The moisture is greatly appreciated and everyone has a smile on their face. Unfortunately we need many more days like today to replenish the water supply.

Although it rained yesterday and more rain is forecast for today Greenville remains in a very serious drought. Because of that I’m pleased to share a photo of these treegators in use behind the Peace Center. Every effort for water conservation helps.

Yesterday I took this photo of Walter Ezell taking a photo of one of the ten mice sculptures on Main Street. If you look closely you can see the mouse at the top of the photo. He is perched on the sign and overlooks those of us who stroll on Main Street … I also have photographed this mouse and posted it previously … Walter’s preparation is impressive and I look forward to seeing what he post at his Flickr site … Because the idea is for families to hunt for the mice I can not give a map location. However, I will share a link to the official hints page which will help you find the mice.
