Meet Melinda and Dennis … One of the highlights of my photographic experience is when someone stops me and ask that I take their photo … That happened today when I met Melinda and Dennis on River Street next to the Court Street condos (map location).

Today’s photo was taken across from the West End Field (map location) where the Greenville Drive plays baseball. Actually I think the stadium name has been changed to Fluor Field at the West End.

Not all of the buildings in Greenville are historic and in a few cases they are not that good looking. However, there is often something interesting to photograph as is shown in today’s photo of a building in downtown (map location). I like the patterns and the touches of color.

On a recent walk, in the Historic Pettigru Preservation Area near downtown, I took this photo of a law office (map location). It seems that, in the Pettigru area, many of the historic buildings have become law office … Greenville’s downtown is circled by several historic preservation areas. They make a wonderful place to work, live, and take walks looking for photo opportunities. In fact I have shared a few from these areas previously. For example: The Earle Street Historic Preservation Area, the Hampton Pinckney Historic Preservation Area, and the Historic West End.

I took this photo because of the evening light and shadows. I’m not sure what the industrial unit is however I assume it is air conditioning and/or heating. Anyone know for sure? The building is part of the Peace Center complex (map location).

On my walk to work recently I captured this photo of shadows cast by the morning sunlight. The photo was taken at the intersection of Court Street and Main Street (map location) … Some readers may remember this previously posted photo showing Morning sun reflecting on staircase railings … Both photos play with shadow using the technique of shooting toward the morning sun.

Recently, there have been calls for water conservation during these extreme drought conditions. So I thought I would add my voice as well … Those interested may want to visit the Greenville Co. Soil & Water Conservation District.
