In the lead up to the 4th of July I thought I would share this photo of workmen and the US flag hanging from the side of the Liberty building (map location). Actually the flag has hung, on the Liberty building, for seven years. However, this photo was taken yesterday … I’m not sure what the workmen’s task was.
PS: Brian, a long time reader and commenter at GreenvilleDailyPhoto, suggested that the flag was a replacement for the flag which had hung for many years.

The workmen are probably window washers.
Seven years? That’s the first I’ve seen of it.
Love this photo Denton. Excellent sky blue in the background. I can’t wait to see what you do with the motorcycles this weekend. We’re being invaded… and I love it. I will be looking for you this weekend downtown after the parade.
Denton, I *think* (may be wrong) that the workmen are putting up a new flag. I noticed a few weeks ago that the flag that had been there a while was getting faded. The one in the photo looks great!
Lorena, I think Brian may have the correct answer. Apparently the flag was being replaced. Just in time for the 4th of July celebration.
Galley, funny you have overlooks something so big. But I am often amazed at the number of scenes I find new after several years of photographing downtown Greenville.
Rock Gaillard, yes Wing Ding will be fun. I especial enjoy this event because the motorcycles are quite, the riders are having a good time, and they bring lots of business to Greenville.
Brian Habig, thank you for correcting my mis-understanding. I agree this does appear to be a new flag. I wish I had been there just a little while earlier and captured the flag as it was unfurled.
Well, new or old…it is lovely. Nice shot. Happy Independence Day.
