Today’s photo is a follow-up to yesterdays … This construction site (map link) is next to City Hall and across the street from our condo. In fact this photo was taken from our patio balcony. We have a view of the activity and a cautious awareness of the blasting which has occurred to break the rocks up which you see … Interestingly they are processing the rock into gravel on site … A hotel and office building will be constructed over the next year. What I look forward to is that the plans call for a public green spaces plaza to be integrated with the buildings.

i like the idea that after the yesterday’s photo you show what is behind the red wall:) will you show the result, too?

Thanks for putting the map links back in, Denton! I know that takes extra work for you, but I sure do enjoy seeing where stuff is going on.

Most exciting is the possibility of an an outdoor skating rink in the winter!

Green space near by for Loo Hoo. We are both excited.
Denton said,
Lorena, sorry but I had to correct my post. It is a public plaza not a green space. Loo Hoo will have to walk a block to the park before she can find a green space.

Denton, won’t the tall buildings affect your view from you balcony? I would guess it will take away from any view you currently have of Main Street.

Such a mess- good thing the wall is so lovely!!!
Denton said,
Zsolt, thanks. I’ll show the results in about a year. In fact I suspect there will be a crane photo opportunity during the construction.
Pipermom, you are welcome.
Galley, yes the ice rink is something to look forward to.
ann in alpharetta, yes our view will be blocked however we knew that was likely when we purchased and we will still have a great view of our courtyard.
Professor, I find the construction activity more interesting than the wall. Thankfully they have place a couple of windows in the wall for people like me to watch.

I also love the idea of an ice rink. My first broken body part in my life was my left ankle while ice skating in Michigan!
As for your view Denton…I remember the house where I lived in Balbriggan, Ireland had an unobstructive view of the Irish Sea, only about half block distant from our back yard…until a developer came along and put up houses back there :-(
