It is so hot that you can find footprints in the side walk! Actually, I’m sure these prints were left when the concrete was first pored however it was hot so I walked on the other side of the road in the shade (smile) … If you look closely you can see a dogs footprints as well.

I am tickled pink by this photo, Denton, and you’ve given me another idea of something that I want to photograph for you.

So . . . how hot is hot?
Denton said,
Leonda, this last week in Greenville the temperatures have been starting in the 80s, when we wake up, and then hit highs 97-99. With a heat index well above that. Fortunately the weather cools off this week with highs around 85.
For all my readers … Even though the temperatures were very hot this last week this is actually unusual. Because of humidity, Greenville feels hot during June, July, and August however the average highs during those months are historically 85, 89, and 87. Not all that bad.

Interesting photo, Denton. You’re right. It has been HOT! However, this being my first taste of summer here, I expected it to be a lot more humid than it has been. I think it’s been more humid since yesterday’s rain. Prior to that, I was only feeling heat but found the humidity bearable. If that was as bad as it gets, I think I’ll be okay here.

Lynette, I look forward to your photo and I’m flattered you would take a photo for me.
ann in alpharetta, thanks
Clever and interesting photo Denton.
Marsha, I agree that the humidity has been lower. We need some moisture however I don’t look forward to a rise in the humidity.

But can you fry an egg on it?

At first glance I thought you had frost or a light covering of snow- never thought of it as a heat thing! Wow!
