Yesterday I shared a photo taken during my balloon ride at Freedom Weekend Aloft. Because our ballon was in the second wave launched I had the opportunity to take photos during the preparation and the launch of the first wave of balloons. Click on the following thumbnails to see larger images.

Yes, it is a balloon. A hot air balloon. I thought on the portal picture that this has to be a hot air balloon. The colors are stunning.
Galley said,
It’s awesome when they turn on the heater flame thing at night. The entire ballon glows orange.

Amazing photos of your balloon experience, Denton. I’m enjoying them a whole lot!

Great photos, Denton! I especially like the first one. It is AWESOME!
I didn’t make it to the balloon festival this year but did make it to photograph the rose garden at Furman. As I suspected, I should have gone several weeks ago. Still got some great photos and happy I made the effort. Would share them but not sure how to post a link.

What a great event and wonderful photos!!
My husband and I were just talking yesterday about a hot air balloon festival they held here about 10 years ago. . . .We would really like to experience another one.
Denton said,
Alaya, thanks. You will not regret a balloon ride if you get a chance.
Abraham Lincoln, yes the colorful balloons painted the sky.
Galley, I took a few photos of the glow on Sunday night and may share one later this week.
mike burton, yes it was for the photos that I pursued the ride.
Lynette, I’m pleased you are riding along with me.
Marsha, thanks. It was hard to pick one photo out of 400 to represent the experience. So I have chosen to have a mini series for four days. Monday was the festival photo, Tuesday was the launch, Wednesday will be looking down on Greenville’s countryside, and Thursday will be the landing. I may stretch the series into Friday however by then I may have begun to boor my readers.
Jim K, you are right. The ride was a thrill.
Chris, you and hubby should take a balloon ride on your next opportunity. Until then check back to see a few more balloon photos over the next few days … Now that I have taken this ride I may make it a point of visiting Albuquerque which holds the largest festival in the US each October. It is said to be the most photographed event in the world.
