Monday at lunch I went for a walk and one place I visited was The Shaw Memorial Garden which is sponsored by the Greenville Chapter of the American Rose Society. As the photo shows the roses are in full bloom and there is an outstanding view of downtown Greenville as well … For local readers who have not visited the Shaw Memorial Garden you can find it in the 300 block of East Camperdown Way.

Love this perspective, Denton. Will we get to see other roses, too? Oh, I enjoyed the restaurant post, too.
Tanya said,
what a beautiful rose garden!
Lessie said,
How have I never seen you? I do look when I’m out at lunch. This is up from where I work. I speed by thought and hadn’t noticed the roses in bloom!
Marsha said,
Beautiful roses! Must go there.
Do you think this means that the rose garden at Furman University is blooming as well? I just happened to discover that when I visited the campus for the first time since moving here.

This is one of my favorite little spots in Greenville … gotta watch out for the fire ants though.
Chris said,
Nice roses! I drove by a shopping center today and saw that all of the rose bushes are in full bloom. Roses aren’t too popular here because of the bugs (or so I’ve been told).
Denton said,
Lynette, sorry no more roses for now. Instead I moved on to another garden. I hope you enjoy it.
Tanya, I agree.
Lessie, I don’t look nearly so dashing in person (smile). Keep your eye out and maybe one day our paths will cross.
Marsha, if you take photos of the rose garden at Furman please let us know a link so we can share it with our readers.
RestedTraveler, one of the things I like most about the garden is the view of downtown. I also like the nighttime view from there as well.
Chris, bugs and fire ants. Wow I thought the only risk was a thorn.
