May 15, 2008 - Brick work in front of the Westend Dance Company

Brick work in front of the Westend Dance Company in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 5/15/2008.
I took this photo to share the design in the bricks which are found in the Historic West end of
Greenville. The planners deserve an at-a-boy for how they turned out … As I was posting the photo I noticed that you could estimate the time the photo was taken by looking at the shadows. Specifically the shadows under jazz, tap, and swing.

Well you might be able to estimate the time but I can’t! Love the brick work!

As a former Greenvillian, I would say between 11 am and 1 pm??

Denton, the poignancy in this photo and the rest of your current posts, for some reason I just got all choked up looking at them. Perhaps it was the number of people outside, enjoying so many aspects of the city that you obviously love very much. Anyway, I’m grateful for things and people like you and the ones in your photo because they inspire me to enjoy where I live even more that I usually do. I don’t know if I’d made much sense just now, but I hope so. Thanks for every single photo and word. I’m off to eat some oatmeal and get ready for work.

Oh, I’d guess that it is 2 p.m.

Tanya, thanks.

David, you are right on. It was about 12:30pm.

Lynette, your comment is very nice. I’m touched.

Zsolt, the pattern draws you in.
