April 30, 2008 - Morning sun reflecting on staircase railings

The morning sun reflecting on staircase railings in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 4/30/2008.
Yesterday, while walking to work, I captured this photo of morning light reflecting on a staircase railing. It was one of those moments when the ordinary is especially appealing.

Oh, I like this one a whole lot, Denton! It’s splendid. Was the staircase raised above where you stood to take the photo?

Indeed! My first thought was elephant tusks. Then surely not.

Really like this photo. I was trying to figure out where it is, but alas I can’t.

Hey Denton, I’ve been following your photo blog for some time but never left a comment. This photo is spectacular! I am planning to relocate to Greenville this summer and have relied on your snaps to keep me motivated. Thanks!

Lynette, thanks. Although it looks like I might be laying down to take the photo, actually I was on a lower portion of the staircase when I took the photo.

Abe, funny I would not have thought of elephant tusks. Although sometimes I do take what the thumbnail will look like into account when selecting a photo to post.

ann in alpharetta, the photo was taken on the outside stairs behind the Peace Center next to Larkin’s on the River. Here is a wider view of the same location posted in June of 2007.

TaraLea, thanks for the complement and for following our photo blog. I’m very please we can provide a daily dose of Greenville while you wait on your move. You will love it when you get here. Maybe a little hot for a couple of months in the summer but the weather is heaven the rest of the year.
