Today’s post addresses something on everyone’s mind … Conserving fuel not serving papers … The Smart Car shown in today’s photo was parked on Main Street. Click here to see a close-up of another Smart Car seen in downtown Greenville … Another option will be highlighted tomorrow when Critical Mass, a bicycle awareness rally, comes to Greenville. Check out the post, from Budapest about the Critical Mass rally recently held there. Click on the following thumbnail for details about the Critical Mass rally in Greenville.

April 25, 2008 - Conserve fuel, drive a Smart Car
Jilly said,
Smart cars are such a good idea in a city. People don’t need to drive around in massive vehicles and you’d get the family shopping in one of these - at least I think you would! Depends on the size of the family I suppose…
I love the paintings displayed behind the car.

Love the convertible smart car. As Americans we need to think about our love of the automobile and fall in love with cars that are more fuel efficient.

There are a few in London. If you have an alternative fuel vehicle then you can get an exemption from paying the congestion charge. Its an attempt to try and reduce traffic in central London. Still a long way to go I think. The English like Americans prefer to drive.

Greetings from Nashville!
I wanted to let you know I stopped by and have been enjoying your photos!
Please excuse that I’m cutting and pasting this comment, but since my right arm (my writing arm!) is still in a sling, typing is pretty difficult, so I really haven’t been able to make comments.
Have a great weekend!
Chris

cute car, but not sure I would feel very safe in it. Also I think I would feel claustrophobic. I do think that once I get moved I may need to give up my SUV, which I love to drive and the room in it. I hope that I will get a job that will be fairly close to wherever I end up living. It would be great if I could live within walking distance to the job :-)
