Stephanie Sullivan and her mother Janis Boyd-Bowman share an Art Crossing studio in downtown Greenville. Stop by Suite #109 and say hello or call them at (864) 268-1216  … I photographed Stephanie as part of my on going efforts to capture the process of creating art. (Local artist who would like to participate should send me an email) … Following are few extra photos which show Stephanie and her mother Janis, the tools of the trade, and Stephanie in the process of creating an earring.

I have also included this link to an accidental self portrait I took while photographing Stephanie’s studio. A photographer should be very careful to know where all the mirrors are!

This set of photos is very well done. I like the photos you posted today. Nice work.

Stephanie is young and beautiful–very nice portrait. Your self-portrait is fun to see; a photographer at work!!

I wanted you to know that I stopped by, but because of my shoulder surgery, I can’t type with both hands. Visiting the sites, though, has helped brighten my day!

I love the self-portrait, Denton. Because I have done this so MANY times and had to re-shoot so MANY photos because of it .. I now do a mirror spot check when I am getting ready to shoot!

Abraham, thank you.

Kate, yes Stephanie was the perfect subject for a portrait. As I was the opposite for a self-portrait (smile).

Chris, it is good to see you are getting out and surfing the world as you recover from your surgery.

Helen, I found the self-portrait funny as well.

Thank you featuring the artists in Greenville. I always like to support the arts when I can.
The visual of you in the mirror makes that particular photo interesting…it looks as though you may be looking at an item of interest, like you are a customer.

This is a great series featuring the artists and their arts in Greenville, Denton! I’ve enjoyed every last one of these. It would be great to capture (if at all possible) the performing arts process as well, I think. There is a thriving performing arts community here. I do know that most do not allow photography without prior consent, though, which makes it difficult to display the scene.

Last summer we came to Greenville for the Josh Groban concert, driving up from our home town in Central Florida. Unfortunately we didn’t have much time to spend exploring this wonderful city, but this did not take away from the immediate love affair we felt for this great southern place. We are planning our future trips to Greenville with the hope of settling there in another 3 years when our daughter has graduated from high school. I am an artist, as well as certified school teacher, so I appreciate the emphasis on the arts and supporting local talent. I can’t wait to live in Greenville!
