Continuing our white theme, today we share a photo of white blossoms behind a humous parking attendent. The photo was taken recently on Augusta Street in downtown Greenville. You can tell I was out for a walk early morning on a Sunday given there are no cars in the parking lot.

Today I continue the mini theme of white shared over the last few days. Today’s photo present white on blue. The photo is of The Galleries of Brian Brigham which is located at 1004 Augusta street in downtown Greenville. They advertise antiques, interior design, garden shop, and an event site. In addition there is a sign that says a restaurant called Shane’s provides distinctive Southern Cuisine behind the gallery. In addition there is a sign indicating a peacock garden in back. I plan to visit during business hours with hopes of photographing a peacock.

Today I’m continuing the white theme started yesterday. Actually red and white yesterday and today it is white and white. The building is called Scott Tower and I understand it is managed by the Greenville Housing Authority. I also read that Scott Tower was the first housing for the elderly built by the city of Greenville.

Today’s photo is of construction work at Logan Park with Scott Tower in the background. Dirt is a rare scene in Greenville. We normally have grass, flowers, and pine needles covering the ground. I’m not sure if the construction is for new housing or a complete rework of the park. Possibly a local reader can provide some insight.
PS: Some Google research has turned up the answer. At the GreeterGreenville website under the haynie-sirrine master plan section I found a document which includes a recommendation to create an important public space to honor the memory of Miss Ellie Mae Logan. The recommendation includes a park and townhouses. The document has detail and drawings for the project. The document also includes a photo of the park before the construction started.

This is the new mouse sculpture in downtown Greenville. This makes the 10th mouse sculpture on Main Street. They are greatly enjoyed by families who go on mouse hunts. For that reason I will not tell where to find this mouse however a hint is that this mouse is next to a statue dressed in similar attire … About the photo. Have you ever seen a mouse shadow before?

The Saint Baldrick’s Shaving the Way to Conquer Kid’s Cancer event in downtown Greenville was a great success. You can see those who had their head shaved included all ages and genders. What a unique way to celebrate Saint Patrick’s day.
