As a follow-up to Saturday’s post showing a rainbow peace flag waving in downtown Greenville, I will share some of the colors of the rainbow over the next few days. Today I share a green warehouse door in need of a fresh coat of paint. I’ll admit there is not a lot of green left however I think if you put your imagination to work you can see how beautiful this green door could be.

I love this door’s natural look, Denton! But then I’m used to seeing that sort of thing in the old villages around here! So many lovely colours in the wood and flaky paint.
Kate said,
I see many of these doors here in Mazatlán, just crying out for restoration. Clever of you to show just part of it–it’s more dramatic that way.
Barry said,
It reminds me of Bloom’s closed door policy on Muffin Bottoms. Up with Bottoms!
Helen said,
Yes, this would make a great project. This door is just screaming to be restored!
Coach said,
I agree with ya’ll…….it would be a shame to cover it with paint (even green). Hit with a belt sander and varnish, leave it natural. Nice picture Denton. I try to collect pictures of old barns and sheds before they fall down and have missed too many opportunities. Either don’t have the camera or say next time, and next time it is gone.

Jilly, personally I also found the flaky paint appealing.
Kate, yes restoration would be ideal. I choose to advocate a coat of green paint as a tie to the rainbow peace flag.
Helen, the building is one block away from those being restored. Maybe next year.
Coach, I think restoration has it … Do you post your photos on the web?
Coach said,
No…..just a little private collection/memories during my travel.
