There was a time that Greenville wanted to have that flag removed because they found it might be insulting to our foreign business guests flying in from all over, ie. Michelin, BMW, and others. Roger Milliken, known for his "Proud to be an American" attitude said "No Way".... and he has that much pull. Matter of fact, you have taken a picture of the statue of Roger Milliken inside the airport, the little boy with the planes. If you notice next time out at GSP, the Airport Police have patches on their arm that say "Police, Roger Milliken Field". I have always thought that's a great story about a man that was so proud of his country, that he would not a little thing as that emblem or flag be pulled from the airport. He is one proud American.
