For our local readers this is a common sight. It comes from a display at the Greenville airport. The display includes a BMW Z4 roadster and the Crafted with Pride symbol in the background. Z4’s are build in a plant just outside of Greenville. Those of us living in Greenville are very proud of our ties to BMW. The Crafter with Pride symbol comes from Greenville’s textile heritage … I took the photo last weekend after dropping Connie off for a trip to Singapore. She attended and presented at a Creativity Conference.

A very interesting symbol, and I wonder about the display: how large is it? The colours show up bold and distinct in your photo. As long as I am asking questions, how is Norma? I miss her posts.
Singapore sounds like a super trip. Will she be able to meet any of the bloggers there???

Denton, I am sure you have seen the flag outside of the airport with the same logo. There was a time that Greenville wanted to have that flag removed because they found it might be insulting to our foreign business guests flying in from all over, ie. Michelin, BMW, and others. Roger Milliken, known for his “Proud to be an American” attitude said “No Way”…. and he has that much pull. Matter of fact, you have taken a picture of the statue of Roger Milliken inside the airport, the little boy with the planes. If you notice next time out at GSP, the Airport Police have patches on their arm that say “Police, Roger Milliken Field”.
I have always thought that’s a great story about a man that was so proud of his country, that he would not a little thing as that emblem or flag be pulled from the airport. He is one proud American. Thanks for the picture… hope I didn’t bore you with the story behind it.
