February 13, 2008 - National Symphony Orchestra in Greenville

National Symphany Orcistra members strolling the steets in Greenville, SC. This photo was tanken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 2/13/2008.
Today’s photo is of Jim Higgins and Steve Dumaine from the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO). On Sunday evening we meet Jim and Steve as they were leaving a performance at the Peace Center, in Greenville, and walking to their hotel. As you can see from the photo they were very friendly and clowned around. This was their studly pose … Imagine walking out your front door and running into members from the NSO. What a treat.

It was an awesome concert and I am thrilled with the NSO’s residency in our state this year. My brother became good mates with the principal trombone player. My brother is a reserve player for the GSO and performer with several other regional symphonies and brass groups. He has studied with industry leading trombone professionals from around the world and really enjoyed meeting members from the NSO.

I am glad you were able to meet these two nice guys out on the street. You missed a great concert, but captured a unique moment on the sidewalk.

This photograph is like a painting. Have you reversed it …or something? Whatever you’ve done, it’s most effective, Denton.

Jilly, you are correct. I used PhotoShop to make the image more artistic. The reason is that the lighting was not very good and I wanted to be sure and share this unique moment. So with a little PhotoShop magic the image is interesting.

I really like this photo, I like photos of people. And I like how you captured them being goofy because when they are busy doing what they do, people don’t usually imagine them as goofy people. they always look so serious…(and I do like what you did with the photo…)

Hi Denton, That was a fortuitous encounter - and you made a nice photo of the moment for us to see.
