This is another photo taken on my recent walk in the rain. The photo shows two guys taking a break on the loading dock behind the Greenville News building in downtown Greenville … I like the lighting and the rain which appears under the street light.

Thanks so much for your response to yesterday’s question. It actually gave me some ideas. I can’t wait for the warm day or two. Really want to be able to get outdoors and go hiking or something.
I love this photo..the lighting is really neat. Almost reminds me of a screenshot from a film noir movie.

Excellent shot! I just woke up and fired up my newsreader and I thought I was looking at a screen shot from the next Batman movie coming out and then it surprised me that it was a place I walk by a good bit.

I agree with Kara and Linker that this photo looks like a screen shot from a movie. I would guess the two guys may be talking to each other, and then again that may be just an illusion. They could be adrift in their own thoughts.
I enlarged the picture and tried to read what is written on the side of the car on the right, but can’t quite make out all the words. I wonder if the owner did that on purpose or if it is pure vandalism.

This is one of my favourite pictures from this site. One starts to hear dialogue and feel plotlines as the picture makes its first impact with the eyes.
Happy Christmas Denton, thanks for your visits and comments over the last months.

A remarkable picture. I had no idea where this was, and I agree that it had a Gotham feel to it.

Kara, you are welcome and I hope you get to go hiking in the near future. We especially enjoy hiking at Table Rock
Curly, thanks for visiting.

linker j patrick, thanks for the complement. Best wishes on a prosperous new year.
ann, the two were infect visiting. The words on the car are from vandalism which is very rare in Greenville. For that reason I almost did not post this photo. I do out of my way to not glamorize graffiti.
Rich, thank you. I appreciate your complement. This was an exception to my normal photo given it does not show Greenville in as positive of a light as I would like. Having said that it is important to note that this is a very safe area.
Brian Habig, thank you. I was lucky to be walking home from work and to stumble on this scene.

First words that instantly came to mind: “Film Noir.” Desaturated, this shot could easily pass for a scene in a modern day version of a retro thriller. I love the high contrast between the highlights and the shadows. Great capture!

I like this shot too — looks like a moody smoke break.
