Recently Connie and I were interviewed for a story in the Greenville Journal about our photo blog. Cindy Landrum did the interview and wrote the story. Michelle Mogavero was the photographer … I could not help myself and pulled my camera out to take a few photos. Click here to read the article titled Greenville Daily Photo Site shows city to the world … thank you Greenville Journal.

This is totally awesome. Great story, I love it, and you both tell some of my same reasons for wanting to move there. I am so delighted that you are being featured in the Greenville Journal. I really like that publication. Was that in this week’s edition? Gosh you will have a LOT more people going to your blog now :-)
I had another epiphany tonight regarding my creative vision/dream for story I wrote which became my first published book. That epiphany is that I am to be in Greenville where my vision can begin to take route, to sprout, to grow and blossom to fulfill my dream.

Denton and Connie, this article represents precisely why I love your blog so much. It is created in a manner that is first person most of the time and yet there is enough information about your lives to create a continuing dramatic documentary with “novel” appeal. You are like the intricately carved frame around a great masterpiece. You are the always faithful guide, eagerly showing off the best and simplest elements of life in Greenville. Thank you for never letting us down!

Awesome for you Denton! I am so happy to hear that you got featured in the newspaper. I have been looking at your pictures daily for a year now and I must say as soon as I sign on to the internet it is the thing I look forward to the most and the thing I MUST do first. I love it…you truly capture the spirit of Greenville.
I am very proud to say that I will be moving to Anderson this coming week December 10th. I need to be closer to Clemson University for school but I look forward to experiencing many of the great things Greenville has to offer!
I just have one question. Since you are such a great photographer..do you think you could feature the state parks in the area like Ceasars Head, Table Rock and Jones Gap a little more? I love those places and my pictures never seem to turn out quite like yours.
Thanks for all you do,
Kara

Congratulations, Denton and Connie, on your article in the Greenville Journal, it really is a nice read, too!! On your comment on my blog, about the Christmas tree design, it does seem modern, but I’m not certain what the design intention was behind it…I usually take notes, and I didn’t have my notepad.

I’ve been enjoying your daily photos for several months. I’m orginally from the upstate and will be moving to downtown Greenville from Charleston at the end of December. Your photos capture so much of downtown living….and I’m excited about all that Greenville has to offer. I’ll continue to look forward to your daily photos.

Great article, Denton! Love the line about Main Street being your living room — very thoughtful.

Like your anti-spam, this is SPECIAL. Looking at your blog everyday helps me keep up with your life, feel more connected. And yes, I remember you as High School Sweethearts - just like yesterday!
Kristi said,
Congrats!! Did they happen to say how they heard about your site?

I read and enjoyed the article very much! It’s nice to get recognition for something you’re having so much fun doing. I’m amazed at the number of pictures you snap daily!!

Congratulations - will you still remember us now you’re famous? ;)

From what is said you have the happy knack of adding a story line and the focus is of the city, it’s good. I dont exactly end up with that style, it is not easy to be consistent.

Oh, wow, congratulations! I think it’s a well deserved honor, your photos and commentary are so fun (I love that wry sense of humor you have)…and I loved today’s photo too!

That’s the second interview of a blogger I’ve read about recently though I can’t remember if it was Portland who was interviewed. Congratulations to you, Denton. You do so much with the dailyphotoblogging and deserve great accolades.

Congratulations Denton and Connie! Great stuff. Funny how this blogging lark can make you famous. I’ve also had the local Polish press interested in TORUŃ DP.

A great piece, Denton. Thanks for letting so many people see how great Downtown Greenville is.

What a nice validation of your blog! Well said (by you and Connie) and well written. Congratulations!
(You are high school sweetharts? How cool!)

Denton and Connie, how neat this is! Thank you for sharing it with all of us as well as sharing your beloved Greenville.

Thank you for your wonderful comments. This is a busy time of year for me and it will be a day before I am able to answer each specific question you asked. Please check back tomorrow.

Justin, thank you. We were flattered that the Journal chose to write a story about us.
Kara, it is great to have long term visitors and friends. We appreciate your comments and visits. I’m sure you will love Anderson given all the lakes. Hopefully we will get the rain necessary to raise the water levels … I will include some to the state parks. However, given our blog is titled “living downtown” I suggest you might want to visit Eric’s photoblog called A Days Drive from Greenville.
Gwen, thanks.
Carolyn, “moving downtown” is such a positive phrase.
Galley, thanks for the plug.
Lessie, yes a professional’s camera and lens made be feel inadequate.
Leonda, you are showing your age in that you remember Connie and me being High School sweethearts.
Kristi, the writer, Cindy Landrum, did a Google search on Photography in Greenville because she was interested in joining a club. That was a couple of months ago and Cindy has been a regular return visitor. Cindy says she visits our photo blog several times weekly.
Kate, yes it was nice to get recognition. But like you said it is best that the reorganization was for something I love.
Jackie, hardly famous. However, at Thanksgiving, our daughter and son-in-law visited. We walked to Coffee Underground after eating Turkey and a couple recognized us. They were in from Fort Lauderdale and follow our blog regularly. After that conversation our son-in-law proclaimed us celebrities since we are recognized on the street.
Julia, not really a story line so much as a highlight from the actives we enjoy while living in downtown Greenville.
BlueChic, thank you. And congratulations on passing your 100th post at your Chicago Daily Photo blog.
Annie , thank you. The news article I am envious us was the BBC story for Chris who publishes the Newcastle UK Daily Photo blog.
Wayne, thank you.
Glenn, I hope the local press follows through.
Brian Habig, I appreciate your comment and frequent visits to our photo blog.
Isabella, yes Connie is a major part of our Photo Blog. Although I take the photos, post the explanation, and respond to the comments. Connie is my muse. That and she never complains about the time I give to the Daily Photo efforts … Yes we were high school sweethearts 39 years ago.
Lynette, we are pleased to share Greenville with the world.
