Because it has been so dry in the South East many of us were thankful to see the clouds roll in … This photo was taken yesterday evening. You can tell by the lighting that the sun was peaking out from the clouds. The Bank of America building is in the middle of the photo.

So the clouds were dark and low and it looked like rain? How much did you get?

I am a native Greenvillian … living just outside of Greenville, right now. Though my residence is in a neighboring county, I spend most of my time in Greenville and am desperately looking for ways to get back into town.
How delighted I was to find your blog, a daily treat of all that I love about the city. Yesterday, we visited with my daughter in Easley and then brought my mother back home to Greenville. As we came in on Academy, drove up over the hill and saw the sun shining off the buildings with those low dark clouds in the background, I thought what an incredible photograph this would make and I thought of you.
Joy, joy this morning to see your captured the beauty. I don’t think the clouds brought rain though, did they?

We got 0.19″ which is barely better than nothing.

Thanks for your keeping us connected to Greenville in a wonderful way, the visuals through your wonderful photographs. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
My day was blessed even though my heart was clouded with the loss of my wonderful companion the day before. Although I am hurting bad, I remain so grateful for the gift of him in my life for six and a half years. He was 12 years old and had heart problems which finally became congestive heart failure. He is at peace now, and no more pain.
Thanks again for the joy you bring to those of us who love Greenville and your wonderful photos.

the contrast is great between the dark clouds and the yellow building of the bank. I always look for moments like this:)

Sorry to hear about the low turnout in the rain gauge Denton. I hope you get more soon. This is, to me, a striking shot. Due, I think, to the composition. Without over thinking it, it just seems to convey a lot of power.
Thanks,
Wayne

i sometimes think that this kind of lighting, low sun peeping out under dark grey clouds can make for the most spectacular pictures. The warm balancing the cold, lovely!
