October 9, 2007 - Looking for the next great photo

Looking for the next great photo opportunity in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted on GreenvileDailyPhoto.com on 10/9/2007. I found appealing the focus this young lady had on what her next photo would be … A question to the other daily photo bloggers. Do you look like this lady when on a photo hunt or like one of the following?
Taking photos in Greenville, SC. Taking photos in Greenville, SC. Taking photos in Greenville, SC. Taking photos in Greenville, SC.

Interesting subject. I act more like the lady in the main photo. Adore the photo of the man taking a photo of something tiny.

Denton, when I clicked on that photo, I didn’t then know how to get back to your blog, so had to start all over again. There wasn’t a back button available? It worked fine tho on the other three as I did a middle click with my mouse, to open a new window. Is it right we should lose contact with your blog - think I probably did something wrong.

I walk around acting like a tourist which I hope means I get away with it! They can always grumble and say ‘Les Anglais’ - the English!

Jilly, when you click on one of my thumbnails the image appears in a lightbox above the normal blog page. To get back just click on the close or x on the bottom right of the lightbox.

I think I am more like the lady in the main photo. I had the same problem as Jilly … couldn’t get back to the blog. There was no close or X to click on!

Jilly and Helen, thanks for letting me know there is a problem getting back to my blog after clicking on a thumbnail. I have duplicated and I think I have resolved the problem. Please try again and let me know if it works.

Others, if you have problems on our blog please let me know. I want to make the experience of visiting a pleasant one.

Barb, mostly when I look like the guy in the first image taking a photo of a mouse.

Ian, I also have grown less self concessions when taking photos in public. However, I am very slow to get my camera out when in a group who knows me.

Jilly, the something tiny is a mouse sculpture.

Helen, you are focus on your photo … Be careful and watch for traffic.

First, Denton, I have to say how proud I am that the sunflower photo I posted today brought back a great memory for you. I was all set to take a look at your new photo and to thank you for sharing the memory in your comment.

So, I clicked on your name and saw your photo of the focused, thoughtful young woman photographer and just about forgot what I had intended to do. That photo, your words, the other photos–all of your post today grabbed hold of me. Seeing those kindred spirits made me so happy. I cannot thank you enough for posting them, just as I cannot fully thank all of the CDPBers who give me glimpses of their cities and themselves, through their photos.

Nice to see so many pictures of another SC city!

Lynette, your are welcome and thank you for your comment as well. I especially like your description of kindred spirits.

Joan, your collection of photos from Charleston is impressive. I love Greenville but I’m envious of your photo opportunities in Charleston. Check out other City Daily Photo Blog community members in South Carolina at Anderson and Columbia. It appears you already have an extensive following however if your are interested you may want to consider joining the CDPB community. Also, if you are interested I would be pleased to place your link on the Daily Photo Map which I publish.

I’ve been waiting for this day…someone I know is the subject of the post! This girl’s a classmate of mine working on her master’s in Art. Her grad exhibit is being held right now and it’s really cool!

Kristi, I hope your classmate is flattered by her photo. I was especially intrigued by the thought she was putting into the selection of just the right photo to take next. As you can see from the comments there are photo bloggers from around the world who feel a kindred spirit with your classmate … I hope her exhibit goes well.

Sometimes I look like this when I’m trying to figure out how to get a shot using only a small no-zoom digital camera. But usually, I just shoot a couple of shots and hope for the best!

I like the third one best among the thumbnails. The ladies’ smiles make me smile too.:)
