September 28, 2007 - Old and new

Old and new storm drain pipes in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvlleDailyPhoto.com on 9/28/2007. These drain pipes are part of a project to upgrade Greenville sewer and storm water system. You can see there should be a big improvement. I posted another photo previously showing explosives used in the project and another of men working on the project.

Great shot! Nice juxtaposition of the old decaying pipes with the new concrete pipes.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

Great improvement, it seems! And Bibendum arrived to Greenville… Another improvement!

The difference-to-come is evident from you photo, Denton. It’s so clear and vivid.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, praising those who donate and those who shop at Goodwill.

Lavender Lady (Norma), I had never noticed a drainage problem before however the experts had and it looks like they were right.

Rich, thank you. The composition makes a statement.

NorthBayPhoto, thank you.

Trotter, thank you. And as a explanation to my readers where Trotter mentions Bibendum arriving in Greenville he is in reference to Bidendum the Michelin Man shown as thumbnail in my September 27th post.

Lynette, yes the photo almost tells a story. Had there my rain clouds on the horizon it would have been even better.

Neva, this project has disrupted traffic for several months. So we will be please when the construction is complete. The enhanced drainage will be nice but I will miss the photo opportunities the construction offered.
