The Michelin on Main store is open in downtown Greenville. It is a great store which includes; a car hanging from the ceiling as shown in this photo, tread marks on the ceiling, multi-media presentations, and of course the Michelin man. Following are extra photos.

Ok, I am curious … who is Benson? :-)
And also curious as to why a car place in downtonw Greenville…it doesn’t seem to fit in with the atmosphere, the culture of downtown.

Jules, I’m pleased you are having a good time and thanks for letting me house sit for you in Rabaul (Papua New Guinea). I hope you kissed your cat (Benson) goodbye before you left on your trip.
For all my readers. An explanation is in order. Jules, from Rabaul, is on vacation in Vietnam. While she is on vacation I am doing my best to virtually house sit for her. So far I have managed to publish her daily photo each day, enjoy the outstanding sunsets, meet a lot of local people, and I have even caught a glimpse of Benson, Jules’ cat. But I have not been able to feed the poor cat yet.
Lavender Lady (Norma), I also am worried about Benson … Even virtually I have enjoyed house sitting for Jules.
Zsolt, I think the reason to hang a car is such that you can better show off the tires which Michelin sells. That and as you say it is an attention grabber.
Ann, Michelin’s North America headquaters is in Greenville. We love our big employers.

Great series of photos!! Certainly looks very posh for a tire store!
Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. The Zamboni’s “flood” the ice. The machine scraps the ice and at the same time shoots water (heated to about 140-160F) and squeegees the water so that it forms a new hard ice layer on top of the older ice (the water is usually purified since impurities would affect the quality of the ice).

Great photo, Denton! I just got home from Greenville and spent two-plus hours photographing along Main Street and Falls Park yesterday but somehow missed this new store. Will be able to return in two months, though, as I bought a new home there this trip.
I checked out one of your favorite spots, Coffee Underground, this trip and absolutely LOVED it! I think it will become one of my favorite hangouts.
Your photos continue to inspire me and others. Keep up the great work!

thanks for the comment Denton..so now i understand :-)
Marsha, congratulations on buying a home in Greenville…wish it were me. One of these days… :-)

Excellent photos Denton! This will become a new attraction to that growing center of activity around the Main Street and Reedy River area. Just so everyone is aware, this is NOT a tire store, but rather an interactive experience exhibiting Michelin’s many products. You cannot buy any tires in this store - only lots of unique custom items with the Michelin logo on them.

Leonda, hanging the car from the ceiling was makes a bold statement. I have to admit that I noticed the car was a Cadillac before I noticed it had Michelin tires.
NorthBayPhoto, thank you. As Justin mentions below the store is an “interactive experience exhibiting Michelin’s many product”.
Marsha, congratulations on the purchase of your new home. I know you will love living in Greenville.
Ann, you are welcome.
Justin, thanks for the explanation. I agree that the Michelin on Main store will become a new attraction to downtown Greenville.

Marie, yes Michelin has a large presence in Greenville. We often hear French spoken on the street.
