August 28, 2007 - Man in pink taking photos at Liberty Bridge

Man in pink taking photos on Liberty Bridge in downtown Greenville, SC. This photo was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 8/28/2007. Yesterday, at lunch, I took this photo as part of my taking photos series showing others with their camera. Today’s photo also raises the question. Should a man wear pink? … Personally, I think this guy is big enough that he can carry it off without anyone questioning his masculinity .

Even if I thought he shouldn’t wear pink there would be no way I’d tell him - look at the size of him!!! A man that big can wear whatever he likes!!!!!

I am trying to picture where this was taken. I would put a bubble above the man’s head saying “Hmm, should I take that photo or not?” :-)

My 9 yr old son talked me in to buying a shirt that says “Pink is the New Black” and it is one of his favorites. I’ve also seen pale pink shirts that have “Real Men Wear Pink” written on them. They both make me giggle. As far as the debate goes…..I would say if the man (or boy) feels comfortable enough - more power to them! :-)

I have a hot pink Oxford shirt, thank you very much!

Gallery, I also have a hot pink Oxford shirt which my wife purchased for me … I only wear it on special occasions to make her happy … By the time this day is over I may have to post a photo of myself in a pink shirt to make up with all of those I have offended.

Pink is great — on men and women. I ditto that it is the new black.

That reminds me of red light bulbs and how people would take them out of candle sticks in the windows at Christmas time.

I like your post. I would wear pink and think nothing of it.

Of course, my kids tell me that I used to wear a lot of clothes only clowns normally wear.

Thanks for your visit.

I’m back to weight in on the dress issue. I don’t care what colors people wear. However, here in Georgia there is a big debate on about young men wearing their pants down below their butts and their underwear showing…and the additional clothing issue in the debate are bra straps showing and wearing thongs that can be seen through clothing!!! I really DON”T like the underwear showing, and i wonder what is the point of wearing the pants at all if they are going to wear them down along their legs. and i don’t agree with girls or women wearing tiny skirts that with one inch bend you can see their butts, and so little on top that you can see practically their whole chest.
Ok - that is my soap box for now :-) he he he!

Denton, the caption was as good as the photo. I DEFINITELY would not want to be the person who challenged this guy about his clothing choices.

I think he can wear what ever he wants…and I bet you look “gorgeous” in pink. (my anti spam word)

There’s a very sceptical look on his face. Perhaps he wonders why you are taking his photo. As for me, I like it, too, to take photos of photgraphers taking photos of … *lol*

Of course, men can wear pink, especially when it is a pink dress shirt, worn untugged with khaki pants and a pair of loafers and sunglasses. :-)
