August 22, 2007 - McBee has trees, flowers, sidewalks, & angle parking

Trees, flowers, sidewalks, two lanes, and angle parking on McBee Avenue in downtown Greenville, SC. This photos was taken by Denton Harryman and posted at GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com on 8/22/2007. Greenville deserves an At-A-Boy for extending what has made Main Street so successful. The approach of Trees, flowers, sidewalks, two lanes, and angle parking has been extended to McBee Avenue in downtown Greenville. This photo is next to the McBee Station complex which includes a Publix grocery store, a Staples, an apartment complex, and many other stores to come … Click here to see a photo from this same prespective taken May 15th, 2007.

McBee Station is going to be a great place. I look forward to it being finished. I wonder how long it will be - or their expected completion date :-)

Wow they’ve come a long way in the past few months and I can see it really shaping up to be a beautiful place. I always love going downtown and simply walking around and looking at all it has to offer (the best way to have a great night with little to no money!!) and I can’t wait until this is finished so I can walk it too.

Ann, the stores are opening this month. The apartments are sometime away. The condos above the stores are a little closer. Note that the apartments are leasing now even though they are not complete.

Marta, I’m sure you will love it.

Cari, what will be even better is in a few years after the trees have had time to grow and shade will cover McBee as it does on Main Street.

Lessie, I found the contrast of the two photos interesting. I also, found it interesting how quickly McBee was built vs RiverPlace. I think the reason is because McBee had tenets lined out before construction started.
