A reader recently asked if I knew of any available space on or near Main Street. They said they were looking to “rent or buy a commercial building in the downtown area, rehab it and live above in a loft situation”. So today I share one such opportunity … I’m no realtor and I have no idea what the value is … To me it looks like the property will need a lot of re-hab. However, the buildings around this one have been remodeled and they look very good … Following are a few extra photos. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view.

Almost all of our stores, downtown, look like this one or even worse. I guess that’s why people here don’t go downtown anymore.

There’s a building across the street from the Brick St. Lofts (near West End Field) that is either for sale or for lease. It already has living quarters in the upper floor.

Abraham, we in Greenville are very fortunate in that old buildings such as this are being re-furbished and new business is moving into them. The revitalization of Greenville has been a phenomenal success.
Gallery, it may be a few weeks however I’ll make a point of posting a photo of the building you mentioned. That would be a great area for a loft condo. Especially given how close it is to the West End Field.

love the night photos!

I’m actually the fool interested in finding a downtown building and doing some rehab. Thanks for sending along the photos — we’re going to be down there with you about the 26th of September, and maybe I’ll go look — do you remember the address?
We’re thinking of “retiring” to the area — my wife has put in her 30 years with the State of Washington, and my business is mostly virtual — I can live where ever. I’ve done a lot of building work, and the idea doesn’t scare me too much. If it’s got good bones, the rest is just paint and spackle. And plumbing. And electric. And pests. And sanding.
Oh, well.

Dick, the building is near the intersection of Oneal Street and Main Street. There are some great new restaurants very close to the building. When enlarged the first thumbnail photo in my post shows a phone number to call for information.

hey there,
i’m looking for some retail/commercial real estate in the downtown area, preferably in the west end, and wanted to see if ya’ll knew the latest on this market?? thanks very much for your help!
Denton said,
Brandt, sorry I am not in real-estate so can offer no advice. However, if you walk around downtown you will see several signs indicating retail/commercial space is available … There is a lot of older property which is being restored. In addition you may want to consider the space available at McBee Station.
