August 11, 2007 - Meet Mike and Paula

Meet Mike and Paula. They are moving to Greenville, SC and pose here on Main Street ... Photo taken by Denton Harryman and posted on GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com Last night this couple stopped me on Main Street and introduced themselves. It turns out they are moving to Greenville and contribute part of their decision to the photos shown here on GreenvilleDailyPhoto.com … I am very flattered … Actually, in addition to numerous emails from people planning moves to Greenville, Connie and I have met others visiting or moving to Greenville in part due to our blog … As Jules, from Rabaul (Paula New Guinea) would say. I’m quite chuffed (I had to look chuffed up — it means very pleased and is commonly used in the UK) … PS: This photo was taken in the center of Main Street. There were lights twinkling in the trees, lots of people walking in the sidewalks, and a band playing in the background … best wishes to Mike and Paula.

Thank you Denton, we were both very honored to meet you, actually meeting you made my trip complete. My wife and I enjoyed our exploration of downdown Greenville. We were walking through Falls Park until 12:30 AM. Had the chance of meeting the security guard at the Govenors school which will be a perfect place for my oldest daughter. We know now that we have found our new home.

I am so happy for Mike and Paula moving to Greenville. I also am delighted to have met you and Connie back in March. Greenville is a very special place and I look forward to the day I too can move there.

I’m familiar with the word chuffed and it speaks volumes. Well done and good luck to your new friends.Isn’t it amazing how lives can change through photographs. Great stuff. Dead chuffed for you, as they say!

I, too, am planning to move to Greenville, and seeing your daily photos only makes me more excited and eager to be there sooner rather than later. I’ve told my son and his family, who already live there, to start checking out your daily blog as it’s so informative and fun. I told them that, if they don’t, I’ll know more about Greenville than they do before I’ve even lived there!

Keep up the great work. You continue to be an inspiration to me to use my camera more.

My family and I are also planning to move to Greenville next summer. I have been looking at your daily photo blog for awhile (and sharing it with our families). It definitely provided us with a good feel for the community and helped us make our decision to move away from the midwest (and our families) easier. Thanks and we look forward to the future and your wonderful pictures!

I would like to draw people’s attention to this Missing Kids It was brought to my attention by a visitor to my blog and I would like to take the opportunity to spread it further. Please give it a bit of space - I think it is a good idea and should be extended outside the USA. Thank you

I’m so chuffed you liked “my” word!!!!

This is such a wonderful off-shoot of our daily city photo blog phenomenon isn’t it - we are able to share our part of the planet with others.

Sounds like you need to call the Chamber and volunteer on the welcoming committee.

Well, I was thinking of moving to Greenville largely because of this blog as well. I’ve changed my mind to Orlando (for now at least) a beautiful, vibrant, lively city that I completely enjoy every time I go there, and I’m not just talking about the theme parks. As my business grows I will be looking for a second home location, Greenville and the Smokies are absolutely at the top of my list.

I also want to voice my opinion here. I just recently moved here from Orlando. As a “hobbyist” photographer, I was extremely pleased to stumble on this site. Coming from Orlando, I was hesitant to move here, having only 3 days prior to making the move. This blog helped me see the parts of Greenville I couldn’t cram into a short sight seeing trip.

Now that I’m finally unpacked, I will be bringing my cameras with me wherever I go. Thanks for the inspiration.

Is everyone leaving Orlando for Greenville? I love this site and the pictures, and have passed it along to friends and family, to describe where we now live. We are guilty of finding a better place to live through Denton’s pictures as well. We don’t want to see it become over crowded now, so lets slow the promotion down. :-)

My husband is already living in Greenville and I will move by spring of 08′. We bought a house in the WestEnd, and we love it. We both wanted to be part of all the wonderful events downtown, and so far we haven’t been dissapointed. Your pictures help me feel connected to Greenville’s community. Thank you.
P.S. My husband is in Real Estate, so anyone looking for an agent let me know:) Thanks

I have to say I am also enthralled by your pictures. I am currently looking at moving there from Phoenix. Your photographs have captured the beauty I miss, having grown up in the cultural Northeast. I too hopefully will cross paths with you soon and hope to spark my creative side that has been lost here!!
