Watching construction on Main Street

Watching construction on Main Street in downtown Greenville, SC I found this scene interesting … The guys in the photo found the scene interesting as well … Yesterday, I showed the back of the building with a guard dog sign. In that post I said I was sure there was no dog. The reason is this big hole in the wall … A sign says the construction is for a restaurant called Pomegranate on Main. The sign says the Pomegranate on Main is a traditional Persian cuisine opening in the Summer of 2007.

The outdoor patio at Restaurant O

The outdoor patio at Restaurant O in downtown Greenville, SC To enjoy the evenings ask for the patio the next time you eat at Restaurant O. I recommend a latter sitting so you can enjoy the lights on Main Street. I especially like the fountain and of course the food.

Flying home

Airplane at the Greenville Spartanbug airport. Last night I returned home from a visit with my mother. While at the Greenville Spartanburg (GSP) airport I took this photo. We were waiting for our luggage, which was checked at plane side. I just happened to have a camera. In fact since starting Greenville Daily Photo I almost always carry a camera … Cincinnati, on the side of the plane, is advertising. The photo really is from Greenville … It is good to be home.

PS: The mystery of where the rock staircase leads will be revealed on Saturday.

PPS: Sorry I was not able to show photos from Greenville’s 4th of July celebration. I was landing at the airport as the fireworks were going off. I did take a few photos from the airplane however I am sure they will not turn out given the lighting … I’ll look around for some links to other Greenville photographers who captured the celebration.

A quite night on Main Street in downtown Greenville, SC This quite scene is very different from what the festivities will be like tonight. The 4th of July celebration is always spectacular and well attended. For those of us who live downtown we can enjoy the crowds, fun, and excitement. And at the same time have the peace of mind knowing that in few days we will have another quite night on Main Street.

PS: The mystery of where the rock staircase leads will be revealed on Saturday.

Rock staircase in Cancer Survivors Park downtown Greenville, SC I have shown several photos of these rock staircases but I don’t think I have shared this angle before. Previous photos of these staircases can be seen here and here. These staircases provide adventure for the young and the young at heart.
