Although I will never shop at this store I am posting a photo of it because of two reasons:
- (one) Because my friend Chris from Newcastle (UK) will enjoy the body piercing reference.
- (two) Because as a teenager our youngest daughter used the response whatever to most of our request. The response was delivered with an attitude that only a teenager can accomplish. Fortunately when our youngest daughter turned 21 she discovered that her parents were okay after all.
PS: A question for our international readers. Do you have a similar slang term used by teenagers to indicate indifference, or begrudging compliance?
Actually it is most likely the tower, supporting the pedestrian suspension bride (the Liberty Bridge) in Falls Park, which is floodlit. The flowers were planted around the base of the tower and as a result they are floodlit as well … Click here to see the top of the tower. This second photo was posted previously.
While walking down Main Street recently I found this artist carving a bear. As you can see he was enjoying the weather setting outside at Port City Java. I find it wonderful that one runs across so many unexpected scenes on Main Street.
I heard a story, on A Prairie Home Companion by Garrison Keillor, claiming that corn fresh from the field was better than … well you know what I mean (blush) … Anyway I’m not sure I agree however the corn was very fresh at the Saturday Market in downtown Greenville. Click here for a view of activity at the market … Other cities around the world have shared open air market scenes. Following are a few:
PS: If you would like to have your open air market photo added to this list please leave a comment.
I think every child should have a tree to run around … Last week, at Friday Night Jazz, these two young people ran around and around this tree. They had a great time as did all of us watching.
I find this tree an inspiration ever time I walk past. So much so I have posted a photo from a different perspective previously. To me this tree’s majesty and grandeur comes from its roots. Something to be admired … tomorrow I will share another tree which makes a more youthful statement.
We ate at The Lazy Goat restaurant recently and were very pleased with the experience. I say experience because that is as important as the food … The food is great. In addition to pizza as shown in this photo they server many Mediterranean dishes … The experience is that of a causal upscale restaurant which encourages conversation, fun, and even song. For local readers (each table has one blue chair) be sure and ask what your obligations are if you sit in the blue chair.
