For Father’s day I asked for a giraffe instead of a tie. Specifically I wanted the tallest and most colorful giraffe which the store Go Fish had to offer … Then I was faced with how to get a giraffe home when you drive a BMW Z3 roadster as I do. This photo shows my solution … While I was loading the giraffes a photography class was passing by. They had a great time and a good laugh. The gentleman on the left of the photo is Jack Schmidt from JS photoart … For those in the class you may email me a copy of your favortie photo of the giraffe and I will be pleased to add it to our photo blog with credit to you as the photographer. photo tres amusante ;o) elles ont le permis de conduire ?
photograph very amusing ;O) do they have the driving licence?
How cute. I’m surprised they didn’t fly out.
What are they made of? what is your facination with giraffes?
love the photo :-)
Great photo and story! I love them — nice folk art.
Olivier, we had lots of fun taking the photo.
Barb, when I took them for a drive I slipped then down a little lower.
Ann, I’m not sure what they are made of. Mostly wood I think. I like giraffes because of how tall our condo ceilings are. The giraffes add color higher up than most art work.
Lessie, they are fun.
remember the seat belts!
or u might get demerit points!
:-P
Since you asked for “a” giraffe, but the picture shows you took home two, I am guessing you received one from each daughter? Looks like a lot more fun than two new neckties!
Denton, these giraffes are awesome! I can certainly see why you wanted them. A fun photo as well.
Keropokman, actually I did use the seat belt to hold my giraffe in place as I drove home … Safety first!
Janice, I only took one giraffe home. The sales lady felt the photo would be better with two giraffes. She also thought I would give in and buy them both … Connie has already mentioned we may add another giraffe to our condo. Maybe for my birthday. They have the unique advantage of being a piece of art which has a small foot print yet they are very tall. This is important when you live in a very small space with tall ceilings.
Marsha, I agree the. The giraffes are very cool. Interestingly the Zoo is putting on a “wine safari” this weekend in an effort to raise money to add giraffes. Connie and I plan to attend.
Denton, it’s always fun when you come in the store. What’s kind of funny is the Zoo director purchased a few giraffes for his office and I think he wanted to get another one to put in the Giraffe fund-raising auction. We love the giraffes, and hope we can get more in time for your birthday! ~Tom at Go Fish.
