superbe et impressionnante cette chute, cela doit être tres amusant à faire. belles photos
superb and impressive this fall, that must be very amusing to make. beautiful photographs
Yes I agree, it could be “strongly discouraged” but for sure they find it: “hardly adventurous” !!!
Yikes! You’d think that wouldn’t feel so good, but it must have been a blast!
Nice shots. I am somewhat surprised the city allows this considering the liability involved.
Abraham Lincoln
Remember “The World’s Ugliest Cat?” He got a haircut!

You got some GREAT photos. But I would be too scared to let my child do this — if I had one. He or she would have to sneak behind my back! ha! :)
Wonderful photos. Looks scary but a lot of fun.
Olivier, thank you. Actually I was not sure I should post these photos because I did not want to encourage others to repeat this.
Fabrizio, yes it appeared very adventurous.
Kristi, in this case it appears there may be a fine line between pain and fun.
Abraham, I agree.
Lessie, thank you.
Chad, scary and fun often go together.
looks easy and fun! i hope its not illegal :(
Why is it so dangerous? Maybe the water below is not deep enough? But it must be fun! A great toboggan!
I might have tried this when I was in my teens, but not now. Amazing the things you’ll try as a teen but not as an adult. Maybe it should be the other way around. Anyway, amazing photo.
Your shots are great and I’ll bet the kids had a great time…and thankfully didn’t crack a head open.
This reminds me of childhood trips we made to a fantastic place called Little Rock in NC during the summer. It’s also big rocks with cascading waterfalls that drop you very fast into a frigid-cold basin at the bottom.
I personally would have to think twice about doing it in Falls Park unless I knew the basin was deep enough. Otherwise, why not?
It looks like a blast!
Your pix are fabulous and make my day every time. We can’t wait to be G’ville residents!
Boy, that looks like a WHOLE lot of fun!
Snookems, no not illegal however it is strongly discouraged.
Alice, I would worry about cracking one’s head open for starters. Another problem might be not keeping one’s feet up, catching a rough rock, then cart-wheeling.
Barb, yes I have tried similar sliding rock adventures in my youth.
Lavender Lady (Norma), I was concerned that my photography might encourage dangerous behavior. However, I did enjoy the photos.
Toby, I have been to sliding rock just outside of Brevard NC. The water is ice cold at the bottom.
Helen, they were enjoying themselves.
Doesn’t appear to be enough water to really keep you from tearing up your backside. Also, that water is still not safe to be in. It is cleaner than it has been in the past, but the bacteria counts are still high. If you have cuts on your skin, or you swallow the water, or it gets trapped in your ear, you could get a nasty infection. People need to be aware that the Reedy has not been entirely cleaned up.
