This is the latest type of flower to appear on Main Street in downtown Greenville. Yesterday, when I took this photo it was because a good friend had recently sent a card to Connie and I. The card had sunflowers on the front. I know this because our good friend, who knows I am flower knowledge challenged, was kind enough to point out the type of flower. The flowers in today’s photo remind me of sunflowers however they are different. Hopefully several of my readers will share their knowledge and let me know what type of flower is shown in today’s photo.

It is a nice photo of what we call a “Black Eyed Susan.” I think that might also be the correct name everywhere.
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Two robins were fighting in my backyard and I managed to capture them in the act.

I agree with Abraham – a black eyed susan. They are budding in our front yard. Soon (I hope they will be as full as what you have shown.
Black eyed susans! My dad’s favorite. :-)
My guess is blackeyed susans — but not sure. Regardless they are beautiful! :)
My sister is a black-eyed Susan but she doesn’t look a thing like these :)
Thanks for helping out everyone. They must be black eyed Susan’s … Be sure and visit Alice, from Arradon (France) daily photo where her post explains the name differences around the world for the same flower.
I love these flowers. We have some in our yard, but they bloom sporadically.. every two or three years, and fewer numbers each year. (Yes, we call them Black-Eyed Susans.) Hey, what’s up with the portal? It hasn’t been showing recent posts for the last few days. Now it’s empty.
I have these in my front yard but they haven’t bloomed yet.
they are lovely…flower challenged…you better not tell mother that…I know you worked in a greenhouse many, many years ago.
